Hand made Tube front and rear bumpers - 5/15

Postby Dave » Wed Oct 18, 2006 7:06 pm

We have front and rear tube bumpers for 79 to 95 years of Toyota p/u and runners, front and rear. When looking for a bumper for your truck make sure it is a well thought out bumper. I mean look at the design and you can tell if there is enough support for all angles of an impact. Our bumpers are made from HREW 2" main tube .120 wall. and have been proven tough and will with stand almost any impact. Our rear bumpers are the only bumpers with triangle reinforced bracing. Our new rear bumper mounting brackets are finally done and come with all rear bumpers from now on. Sturdy 3/8 thick bracket.2/11/09

1st gen trucks need a little prep work for the bumpers to fit. Brackets on the front of the frame need to be removed.
and a 1'' thick piece of steel needs to be added to space the winch plate out enough to install a winch. Image ImageImageImage

Image These can either be welded on or bolted. Image

Some tail pipe modifications may be needed for our rear bumpers to clear.

Tuck

Postby tmougeotte » Mon Oct 23, 2006 2:50 pm

I like it but tucking it closer to the body would better suit me...just my opinion. Pricing?

Hows this. Closer ok..Im always worried if you do bump into something that the tubing will cause more damage then whatever you hit..I saw a guy's exo move enough to brake the windshield..seemd pointless.

Great work
once again, how is the front coming. Are the front going to have winch mounts? I would love to see one suited to fit the Warn-8274 as I had to custome build for mine but this winch is well worth the extra time and money.

Dave-
Looking good.
Post a picture of the entire back end.
Don't for get about recovery points. Angle the ends of the tube on the side to slide up or off rocks. The blunt end can stop forward motion.

bumpers

Postby splasher » Sun Oct 29, 2006 9:47 am

Pics of mounting system?

Projected pricing F/R?

Nice looking rear bumper BTW, from what I can see, functional and simple, not a blatant ripoff of other designs out there. Any pics of the front yet?

When will we see some pics of the front? What are the cost going to be for these things? Will there be a package price for the set or only sold individually?

Postby Dave » Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:46 am

This is where we are at today..I think this is going to be the most popular..Mounting is off the factory bump brackets holes.

Dave-
Is their only 1 bolt one each bracket from the frame to the bumper?
If so it will roll/pivot.
I like the look.

Dave, again
No, there are two bolts on the lower mounting points and two on the upper supports.
