core charge on engines $350.

22r/22re engines with oil filter change hold 4.25-4.50 qrts of oil. If yours takes more or less than that you may have the wrong dip stick or tube.
Break in.
10-30 castrol or valvoline motor oil, 20 min at 1800 rpm to break in the cam (make sure the coolant system is full and free of air pockets) dont over heat it. At 500 miles change oil and filter and adjust valves to 8k intake and 10k exhaust. (water pump extra $35)

Hey Dave, thanks for all the work on my 86 xtra-cab motor install and exhaust work. After the problem with the gauge cluster that your guy fixed fast, thank him for jumping right on that, we had no problems. The big test for me of the new motor was heading up the Altomont pass. Normally I would have to shift out of 5th into about 3rd and jump to the slow lane, this new motor had enough power to hit the pass going 70 and still have more. I only slowed down for a lane changing car, down shifted and then it picked right back up to 70, no problem. The exhaust has a good tone to it, so it was worth the extra time it took. It runs great, doesn't die when i come to a stop and the motor looks great with the ceramic coated header. Now I just have to get the smog test done. I tried that today but the guy notice my VIN number isn't correct to my title, the last digit is a 7 instead of a 4 like my title says. I think nobody looked that close when it had the dash toper on it. Not sure where that went to, but the new shifter knob makes up for it, thanks again for it.
